Hypoxis argentea is found in grasslands and on rocky outcrops. Leaves are V-shaped and covered in silky yellowish hairs.It is a small specie that can easily be overgrown by other plants. The dainty little flowers make it an ideal plant for a small rockery where it can be interplanted with small grasses.
Used medicinally to treat cracked teats of cows and wounds on horses. Rootstock also eaten.
