Ipomea ommaneyi is a perennial with a thick tuberous taproot. Stems are produced annually and are trailing, up to 2 m. long. The broad leaves are wavy and covered with silvery hairs on both sides. The hairs on the fringes are yellow. The funnel-shaped flowers are several together in a more or less dense head. Even the flowers can be silky.
The large tuber has been used as a food source.
Suitable for a bigger grassland garden.
