Trichodesma physaloides is a perennial herb that sprouts annually with one to several stems from a woody rootstock. It is one of the most striking Grassland shrublets.
Its small size and profusion of flowers make this an ideal addition to a grassland garden. It will also do well on a rockery. Grow it on the dry side.
Mundulea sericea, the cork bush, is a very attractive shrub for the small garden that flowers twice a year. These plants prefer well-drained, deep sandy or gravelly soil.
