Vachellia nilotica (Acacia nilotica)
The crown of Acacia nilotica is somewhat flattened or rounded. The bark is blackish grey or dark brown and deeply grooved, with longitudinal fissures. Most of the browsers eat the leaves. The pods are sweetly-scented and attract myriads of insects. It is used as firewood and for fencing posts. The bark exudes an edible gum and is used medicinally.
