Aloe reitzii is restricted to a small area stretching from Gauteng to Belfast and occurs nowhere else in the world. It is easily distinguished by the handsome erect red flower spikes that are produced in summer.

This summer flowering habit makes Aloe reitzii a useful subject for cold gardens where frost can damage the flowers in winter.
