Argyrolobium tomentosum

by Johan Wentzel

Argyrolobium tomentosum
Common Name
Velvety bush pea
Plant Type
Shrub
Plant Description

Argyrolobium tomentosum is an erect or scrambling small shrub, up to 2 m tall. Stems with appressed or spreading hairs. Leaves tri-foliolate, with leaflets roundish, sparsely woolly above, more densely so beneath. Inflorescences can consist of 8-32-flowers, sometimes fairly lax and elongated but often compact and short. Flowers are yellow, turning orange-red with age.

Argyrolobium tomentosum can be left to scramble up a sparsely branched tree where it can display the beautiful yellow flowers.
