Berkheya zeyheri is a perennial herb hat can reach heights up to 0.6-0.9m. It is often found in clumps on mountain grasslands. It has a woody rootstock and the stems are covered in a thin cotton layer and the leaves are bristly above and white felted below. Berkheya zeyheri's flowers are solitary, 60mm in diameter and bright yellow in colour borne during summer between October and January.
