Bulbostylis burchellii, a little sedge, is very common in Gauteng where it appears amongst the grasses on rocky ridges, The seed heads are very conspicuous.

Bulbostylis burchellii is an extremely hardy, drought resistant plant and has a nice compact shape. The small size (<30cm) makes it an ideal companion plant in a small garden.
