Dicoma speciosa is a stout woody perennial shrub that can grow up to 850mm tall. The leaves are leathery, sharp tipped with a broad base and about 150x30mm large. The terminal branched inflorescence about 20-40mm in diameter with purplish with bracts about 30x5mm long, sharp tipped and shiny silvery, the flowers are borne between December and May during Summer and Autumn.
Dicoma speciosa plant will act as an interesting feature in a rockery or in a mixed shrubbery.
The name has recently been changed to Macledium speciosum.
