Plant Description

Galpinia tranvaalica  is an extraordinary tree with dark green, glossy, wavy leaves that  contrast well with the coppery colour of new leaves that appear in spring. It is normally multi-stemmed and start branching very low down. Showy white flowers are borne in late summer and attract insects to the garden. It is also a butterfly host tree.

Galpinia tranvaalica is a quick growing tree and good container plant that can also be pruned into an attractive hedge in sun or semi-shade. This ornamental tree does very well where the winters are not too severe.
