It is normally multi-stemmed and start branching very low down. Showy white flowers are borne in late summer and attract insects to the garden. It is also a butterfly host tree.
Galpinia tranvaalica is a quick growing tree and good container plant that can also be pruned into an attractive hedge in sun or semi-shade. This ornamental tree does very well where the winters are not too severe.
