Gnidia capitata sprouts annually from a woody rootstock. The stalkless leaves are bluish-green and flowers are borne on the tips of lax branches. The flowerheads  can have up to 15 individual flowers.

Plant Gnidia capitata in a well-drained soil and keep dry in winter. It looks best if mixed with other Grassland species.
