Plant Description

Hebenstretia oatesii sprouts annually from a woody rootstock and can reach a height of 1m or more. It occurs in marshy grassland.  Leaves are small and densely packed. Flowers are borne in densely packed inflorescences.  The flowers are slender and are white with a red spot. It is quite bushy and a pretty sight when in flower. Flowering period is quite long.

Cut Hebenstretia oatesii back after flowering. Plant in a fertile soil and keep moist in the growing season.
