Helichrysum chionosphaerum is a mat forming, perennial herb or small shrub that can reach a height of 150mm tall and can spread up to a meter in diameter. The stems are well branched, prostrate and the young parts carry leaves. The leaves are rosettes on short branches and are 10-100x1-3mm large and a greyish white on the upper surface and silky woolly or white felted beneath. The flowers are white ray florets with yellow disc florets borne between July and January.
Helichrysum chionosphaerumt is a lovely flowering specimen ideal for a rockery or an exposed area in need of a groundcover. The flowers are very long-lasting.
