Helichrysum kraussi is a tall, bushy, aromatic shrublet with branches that have many leaves covered in greyish-white felt-like hairs. The leaves are stalkless and spreading with the lower surface covered in white-felted hairs, the margins rolled to the underside of the leaf. The inflorescence is dense and branched in numerous clusters of pale lemon-yellow flowers borne in Autumn straight through to Spring.
Helichrysum kraussi is often found in sandy areas of the grassland or open woodland.
