Hypericum lalandii is a small, floriferous perennial that shoots from an annual rootstock, about 50cm high. Growth form is a bit straggly. It is quite often found in marshy places. Flowers terminal, solitary or in lax heads, yellow to pale orange with red markings, the petals rolling up in the heat of the day. Fruit a small capsule.

Plant Hypericum lalandii in a wet spot in the garden amongst small sedges that will not smother it. It is very floriferous.
