Hypoxis angustifolia is a small, slender, clump-forming geophyte  with a carrot-like tuber, linear to lanceolate with hairy leaves and yellow flowers. Height rarely exceeds 20cm. It grows in grassland or rock crevices  in sun or semi-shade, eventually forming a nice groundcover.
