Kniphofia galpinii is a robust perennial bulb that can reach heights between 0.4-0.6m tall. It is an erect perennial often found in groups. The leaves are finely textured and is usually arranged in a dense rosette of about 450-600x30-50mm large, they are light green in colour, erect or slightly drooping. It flowers in spring and summer with bright orange flowers borne on dense spikes. The orange is sometimes described as a salmony-orange colour and are about 200x45mm large, the salmony-orange buds are about 15-20mm large with yellow stamens protruding.
Kniphofia galpinii's flowers attract pollinating insects and birds to the garden. Kniphofia galpinii is a hardy garden plant ideal for a mixed border and makes for a lovely feature in a rockery or less formal grassland type garden. The lovely flower display will ensure a lovely colourful display throughout spring and summer and it is ideal for mass planting.
