Plant Description

Kyllinga melanosperma,a sedge, is covered with dark brown scales. Leaves are few per culm and normally from uppermost sheath. The round inflorescence is green to golden yellow head that occurs on a single spike.

Kyllinga melanosperma forms dense, conspicuous stands along streamlet margins, always near water. Flowering occurs from October to March.
