Lantana rugosa is an aromatic shrub with roughish, dark green, slightly quilted leaves. Dense clusters of pink to purple, small flowers are borne from September to May. Juicy, purple fruit is decorative as well as relished by birds.
Grow Lantana rugosa in sunny areas of the garden. If grown in semi-shade it will flower and fruit slightly less but the leaves will be larger.
Prune well after flowering to maintain a good shape, otherwise it can become scraggly.
It is an essential component of a bird and butterfly garden.
Lantana rugosa is not invasive.
