Littonia modesta is a dainty little creeper that is always found in the semi-shade of shrubs where it scrambles for sunlight. Plant it where it will enjoy some support. It prefers a well-drained soil.

Littonia modesta is a dainty little creeper that is always found in the semi-shade of shrubs where it scrambles for sunlight. It can reach a height of 2m. The deep yellow to orange flowers are very distinctive and cannot easily be confused with any other creeper.

Plant Littonia modesta where it will enjoy some support and also some sunshine. It will do well as a pot plant if support is provided.

The inflated seed pods are poisonous.

The name has now changed to Gloriosa modesta.
