Plant Description

Ludwigia adscendens is a smooth or hairy perennial  creeping plant. Stems are  prostrate or ascending, often floating. Leaves: Alternate, blades narrowly lanceolate to narrowly elliptic, dark green and shining, bases tapering and running into petiole, tips pointed.

The lemon yellow flowers are born in the  axils of leaves.

Ludwigia adscendens occurs  in water-logged wetlands, usually floating on water and although small, it is often gregarious forming large mats on the surface, the mats often colonized by other species.

It flowers from January-June
