The red seedpods makes Maytenus tenuispina very conpisuous in early summer. The small size is ideal for the smaller bed. A nice accent plant.
Plant Description

Maytenus tenuispina is a much-branched shrub, often spiny.The reddish branchlets are covered in fine hairs. The small, yellowish flowers are followed by very conspicuous, red,  3-angled capsules.

Plant Maytenus tenuispina in a well-drained soil in full sun. The small size makes it ideal for the smaller bed.
