Ornithogalum juncundum, an evergreen, small bulbous plant, has slender grass-like bright green leaves. The small white flowers never reach a height of more than 20cm, but the bulb is very floriferous. The flowers also last a few weeks. It is not prone to diseases.
Plant Ornithogalum juncundum in full sun for best results but it will also flourish in semi-shade. Plant in amongst small grasses such as Sporobolus stapfianus or as part of a mixed perennial bed. It attracts insects to the garden. The small size also makes it ideal for a townhouse garden.
