Pentanisia angustifolia sprouts annually to a height of 40cm from a woody rootstock. It may be single- or multi-stemmed; leaves mainly grow near the base of the plant. The beautiful ball-shaped inflorescence, which is about 30 mm in width, consists of a dense bundle of light- to dark-blue flowers. Individual flowers in the Pentanisia angustifolia flowerhead have long thin blue corolla tubes, opening at the narrow throat into five slender, star-like lobes.
Pentanisia angustifolia is a must in a Grassland garden. Plant in a well-drained soil and keep dry in winter.
