Petalidium aromaticum is a much-branched shrubby aromatic perennial herb up to 1 m tall. Stems and branches covered in greyish-white glandular hairs. Leaves opposite, ovate to lanceolate, glandular hairy. Flowers axillary, solitary, white, with brown veins in the corolla throat, held between ovate bracts.
