Phymaspermum athanasioides has rounded flowerheads that grow in flat-topped clusters at stem tips. When it flowers in early Spring it is very showy.
Plant Description

Phymaspermum athanasioides has rounded flowerheads that grow in flat-topped clusters at stem tips.  The open flowerheads with yellow disc flowers are very showy. There may be tiny ray florets as well. Some tiny green and white bracts may cover the tops of some of the flowerhead buds in various stages of development.

The oblong narrow leaves are crowded towards stem tips, grey-green in colour. The plant is sparsely branched; a slender shrub.

Phymaspermum athanasioides need to be planted in the open where air circulation is good. Plant it amongst other small perennials or grasses.
