Plectranthus malvinus is a mat forming herb which can grow between 200-500mm across. It has shallow roots and fibrous stems which is purplish-green in colour. The leaves are succulent/fleshy, firm and ovate to obovate with purple veins and some white hairs. The flowers are carried on a tall stalk 180-210mm tall with the flowers borne on it, the flowers are pink/violet/mauve and appears between March to May. Followed by brown to black nutlets.
Plectranthus malvinus is an ideal plants for hanging baskets or containers. Its succulent leaves makes it somewhat drought tolerant and with these bright green leaves and beautiful pink flowers it is quite an attractive feature for any garden.
The natural distribution range is very limited.
