Podocarpus elongatus  is the smallest of the yellowwood trees and is very hardy, evergreen and has attractive narrow, grey-green leaves.Unlike the other yellowwoods that are tall trees with long straight boles, Breede River yellowwoods are usually multi-stemmed and as broad as they are high. A beautiful tree ideal for a small garden, with fruits that attract birds.Plant in shade or semi-shade and well-drained soil. Makes an excellent container plant.  It is more hardy than the other yellowwoods of South Africa.
