Pynostachys urticifolia is an erect perennial shrub that grows up to 2m tall. It makes for beautiful erect features in the garden ideal for a border.
Plant Description

Pynostachys urticifolia is an erect perennial shrub that grows up to 2m tall with distinctly oval, hairless leaves with dense spikes of gentian blue flowers 12-20mm long carries in late summer and autumn. It has several stems or branches from a woody base. Its beautiful erect features in the garden work well  for a border.

On the Highveld, Pynostachys urticifolia should be planted in a protective spot otherwise the flowers that occur in late Autumn can be damaged by frost.
