Rotheca hirsuta is a fairly hardy, medium sized, evergreen, very decorative shrublet that has masses of purple flowers in spring and summer. Grows in sun or semi-shade. Very decorative.

Rotheca hirsuta is a fairly hardy, medium sized, evergreen, very decorative, geophytic shrublet that has masses of purple flowers in spring and summer that attract Carpenter Bees.

The edible fruits  also attract birds. Rotheca hirsuta grows in sun or semi-shade and should be pruned regularly to encourage it to bush out.
