Plant Description

The most outstanding feature of Rothmannia capensis is its large, bell-like, scented, white flowers with maroon streaks in the throat. Unfortunately the flowers do not last very long. They are followed by rounded, ribbed, leathery fruit that is also quite attractive. This well shaped, very decorative tree is a worthwhile addition to any garden.

Rothmannia capensis has non-aggressive roots and can tolerate mild frost.
