Schotia capitata is a dwarf version of the weeping boer bean and is common in the Lebombo mountains. The small size makes it ideal for a smaller garden. Protect it from frost when young.

Schotia capitata is a dwarf version of the weeping boer bean  and is common in the Lebombo mountains. The small size makes it ideal for a smaller garden. The masses of red flowers that appear in early summer is very nectar-rich and will attract many bird species Although semi-deciduous, it is quite often evergreen in cultivation.

Schotia capitata is very neat and requires little maintenance, apart from the occasional pruning. Protect it from frost when young
