Searsia discolor is a robust, erect shrublet that arises from a large woody rootstock. Leaves are hard, grey-green above, covered with thin hairs and white-felted below It normally occurs amongst grasses.

Searsia discolor is a robust, erect shrublet that arises from a large woody rootstock. The leathery leaves are grey-green above, covered with thin hairs and white-felted below. The contrast between the upper and lower surface is very attractive and the leaves are even more attractive when the upper surface turns red in autumn.

Searsia discolor is a shrub that can be  used to great advantage in a small garden.
