Plant Description

Volkameria glabrum (Clerodendrum glabrum) is a small to medium-sized deciduous tree which can reach heights of up to 12m high. It has dark green, smelly leaves and masses of bell-shaped white to mauve scented flowers are borne in summer. These are followed by masses of yellow berries that attract many birds to the garden, although the berries are a yellowish-white colour when mature they are green when young.

Volkameria glabrum also attracts many moths and butterflies, making it a splendid feature for any garden. It is ideal for container planting, as a hedge in the garden or as a feature tree. It grows in sun to semi-shade and it is both drought and frost hardy.
