May Mini Challenge
Tackle your makeover in bite-sized steps…
PLAN and PLANT a SMALL GRASSLAND AREA
Every indigenous garden needs an open area = grassland area.
And that is this months mini challenge: Plan and Plant A Small Grassland Area.
Small can be whatever suits your budget and garden. Only you can be the judge of what a manageable bite-sized step will be for your makeover.
Use the Grassland Garden Plant Palette Recipe for guidance and inspiration. Once you’ve decided on your Plant Palette Percentages (Step 1 in the recipe) share it with the Facebook Group.
Stick with the format below for your plant palette:
- % grasses = # plants
- % perennials = # plants
- % bulbs = # plants
- % succulents = # plants
- % small shrubs = # plants
Don’t over complicate your makeover planning. Keep the area small, and the recipe simple. If you’re unsure, either start with the Foolproof DIY Grassland Hamper, or use it for inspiration.
Remember to take a few before and after photos of the area you’ve planted and to share them with the group.
Whatever you do, don’t delay your makeover. Spring is just around the corner and you don’t want to miss out on that.
