Plant Description

Stiburus alopecuroides, the purple vlei grass,  always occurs where the soil is seasonally wet, such as the edges of wetlands or seeps and where the soil is fertile. The colour of the flowers vary from blue to mauve. The small size makes it ideal for landscaping as long as it receives ample water in the growing season, but need not be in a wetland.

Add a little bit of clay to your planting mix for best results.
