Cyrtanthus mackennii is an evergreen bulb that has dark green, narrow, strap-like leaves and heads of tubular flowers, from July to February. It provides quite a display in winter when not much else is in flower. Colours ranging from white and yellow to pink and even red.

Cyrtanthus mackennii prefers semi-shade and moist soil and is a beautiful addition to any garden. It also makes a wonderful container subject.
