Aloe soutpansbergensis is a small grass aloe that can reach a height of 0.3m. It is usually stemless or has a short stem with the leaves arranged in a rosette in maturing plants. The leaves are about 100-300x6-12mm large and the margins are minutely denticulate below the middle. The inflorescence is about 160-240mm long. The flowers are about 20-30mm long and a orange colour borne between January and February.
