Aloe vryheidensis is a large aloe that can reach a height of up to 2m. It is stemless with the old leaves arranged in a compact rosette, erect to spreading about 650x130mm large with 25mm thick blue-green leaves that turns a reddish colour in dry periods, the margins have sharp straight red-brown teeth. The dense, erect inflorescence are 300-400x70mm large with 2-5 dark brown stems with stalkless flowers about 20mm long and a pinkish red colour with dark brown nectar borne in July.Aloe vryheidensis is an ideal specimen for a sunny spot in a rockery or mixed succulent garden bed. The flowers on the northern side will open first and the flowers attract pollinating bees and insects which attract birds to the garden.
