It has fragrant, spherical inflorescences that are terminal, pointing upwards. The colour varies between pink, beige and soft brown. It is followed by bristly, inflated fruits. The leaves are on short stalks. It sprouts annually from a woody rootstock.
Plant Asclepias adscendens in well drained soil in a sunny position. Attracts butterflies.
