Plant Description

Asclepias affinis is a small shrublet that can be decumbent or erect, sprouting from a woody rootstock. Leaves are borne on short stalks and is almost triangular. The inflorescence is a many-flowered umbel that is borne terminally. The colour is a mauvish-green with a yellow corona, but is variable.

Asclepias affinis really lends style to a grassland garden and is a great favourite with butterflies. Plant in a sunny spot.
