Asparagus laricinus is a scrambling shrub or climber and has fine, feathery foliage and silvery branchlets with short, hard spines. It produces a myriad of tiny white, fragrant flowers  followed by  attractive red and black berries that attract birds to the garden.

Asparagus laricinus grows in sun or semi-shade and is a very useful plant for a security hedge as it is very spiny. Trim back once a year to keep it neat.
