Plant Description

Babiana bainsei has sweetly scented flowers that are borne almost at ground level and together with the pleated leaves make for an unusual display. Mix it with short grasses or plant it amongst rocks. Plant in a well-drained soil and do not overwater.

Babiana bainsei needs a well-drained soil and must be kept dry in winter. It is suspected that the bulb has contractile roots and it is best to put a flat stone under the bulb before planting.
