Plant Description

Barleria repens  is a semi-hardy, evergreen, small, drought resistant, herbaceous shrublet or groundcover that tends to sprawl. It blooms profusely in autumn and some flowers are present most of the year round. It  has glossy leaves and grows well in sun or semi-shade and should be pruned to keep in shape. Flowers are fairly large, and are a deep purple-mauve or pink-red, appearing from late summer to autumn (February to April).

Barleria repens can be used with great effect to cascade down an embankment.
