Barleria senensis is a fairly hardy plant suitable for a sunny spot in your garden. The leaf tips are armed with short spines. It can withstand mild frost quite well. The plant is deciduous where colder winters are experienced.

Barleria senensis is a  fairly hardy plant suitable for a sunny spot in your garden.The leaf tips are armed with  short spines. Flowers are solitary in a terminal spike and flowers appear sporadically. It is a water-wise plant but does well in wetter conditions.

Barleria senensis can withstand mild frost quite well.  During harsh winters it may die off above ground and resprout in spring
