Plant Description

Brachyleana transvaalensis is a medium to large tree with dark green glossy leaves that produces dense clusters of whitish flowers in early spring. The fruit appears in early summer.  It is an evergreen tree, although it can be deciduous at times depending on its location.

Brachyleana transvaalensis produces a single straight trunk which at times is slightly fluted. The grey twigs are ribbed and hairless.
