Buxus macowanii

by Johan Wentzel

Buxus macowanii
Common Name
Cape box
Plant Type
Shrub
This small, evergreen tree prefers to grow in the shade. An attractive container plant.
Plant Description

Buxus macowanii closely resembling the European box, with its shiny, leathery green leaves and slow habit, our version could be used for the same purposes - topiary and hedges. It is also an attractive container plant. Easy to cultivate, it tolerates drought well, but thrives if fed. Very nice next to water feature or on a rockery.

This small, evergreen  tree prefers to grow in the shade. It is also monoecious, so if you want seed, plant at least three plants.

You may find stock of this plant at Random Harvest.
