Plant Description

Castalis spectabilis is a  beautiful perennial that shoots annually from a woody rootstock to display masses of purple flowers on long stalks. The hairy leaves are stalkless. The flowering season is quite long.

If planted close together, Castalis spectabilis could also be used as a groundcover since it does not become tall. It can also be used with great effect in a Grassland garden. It prefers a well-drained soil and do not over water.
