Plant Description

Clematopsis scabiosifolia has drooping mauve flowers and upright fruiting heads that are very characteristic of this beautiful shrub. It is also aromatic. When planted in the garden it should be treated as a succulent with regards to water. It prefers a poor, sandy soil.

Clematopsis scabiosifolia cannot easily be confused with any other plant. It is related to the old man's beard, Clematis brachiata, that is often seen next to our roads.
