Crinum macowanii is a hardy, deciduous, large bulbous plant with huge trumpet-like flowers, with a crimson line on the petals. It does very well in semi-shade. This outstanding plant also has attractive knobbly seed heads, which will readily seed themselves around the garden to form clumps.

Crinum macowanii can be grown in either dry or damp conditions.

Beware of the amaryllis caterpillar.
